ACOMWARE e-commerce index: Czech e-shops grew by 23 % in the 1st quarter

For this year experts predicted growth in the turnover of Czech e-shops by approximately 10-15 %. But our first-quarter figures show that the pace of growth has been faster so far – specifically at 23 %. Sellers of household goods, children's products or fashion are most successful.

Assessment Q1 2015:

  1. Czech e-shops grew year-on-year +23 %; compared to the previous quarter, however, their turnover decreased by 25 %;
  2. The average order value reached CZK 1,760 with a conversion rate of 1.64 %;
  3. 81.7 % of e-shop traffic comes from PCs, 11.5 % from mobile phones and 6.5 % from tablets. The year-on-year traffic from mobiles increased the most, by 38.7 %;
  4. PCs account for 90.7 % of the turnover of e-shops. Mobiles make up 4.5 %, tablets 4.7 %;
  5. Turnover from mobile devices is growing the most – by 56 %. Tablets grew by 42 %, PC by 25 %;
  6. The average order value is the highest for PCs (CZK 2,048), the lowest for mobiles (CZK 1,494). For tablets, it reaches CZK 1,717;
  7. The conversion rate is highest on PC where it is 1.68 %. For mobile phones, it is almost half smaller – 0.81 %. Tablets have an average conversion of 1.28 %.

Forecast for Q2 2015

For the 2nd quarter of 2015, we expect growth to be at the same level again 20 %. The driving force will be the spring assortment - clothing, sports, garden or also food thanks to the launch of new e-shops.

Methodology: More than 70 e-shops with an annual turnover of approximately 2.7 billion crowns were analyzed. Data source used: Google Analytics.
